Hawker Brownlow Education ("HBE") provides a wide range of products and services with the aim of improving classrooms and raising student achievement. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they apply to all and any use, access and availability of our products and services.
These Terms and Conditions may be amended by us at any time, and by continuing to use our websites, products and/or services, you accept the Terms and Conditions as they apply from time to time. If you do not agree to the Terms, please refrain from using our sites, products and/or services.
Orders
As one of Australia’s largest print-on-demand publishers, we print most titles to order at our state-of-the-art print facility in Melbourne, Australia, and despatch orders within 7–10 business days.
Your chosen payment method is charged at time of order unless ordered on account.
Delivery
For orders that contain items that are printed to order, we aim to despatch your order within 7–10 business days. If your order is substantially delayed, we will endeavour to contact you by phone or email and advised of a new delivery timeline.
Australian domestic and New Zealand orders are despatched using Australia Post or StarTrack Express and are subject to standard delivery times
Rest of world orders are despatched via either Australia Post (with limited tracking facility), DHL or customer can provide own courier.

Returns
Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if the Products fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
HBE is committed to providing the highest-quality products with a high-level of customer service. If you decide you no longer require the product ordered, or it is not suitable for your needs, you are able to return it to us and receive a full refund of the purchase price (excluding freight) within 14 days of the invoice date. We must receive the product in full resalable condition to process the refund.

Event Orders and Payment
HBE operates professional learning events across Australia every year. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for all participants.
Each registration includes: morning tea, lunch and conference materials (which may include a book and/or handouts).
We require prepayment for all events. We offer credit card, cheque and purchase order payment options.
Registrations will be processed and seats will be held on a first-come, first-served basis after the registration form(s) with payment have been received. After the registrations are processed, you will receive an email confirming your place at the event.
Cancellations and Refunds
We understand professional and personal circumstances can change. Our event cancellations and refunds policy seeks to accommodate most reasonable changes in circumstances, subject to the following conditions:
- All cancellations must be made in writing via email (conferences@hbe.com.au) or via fax (+61 3 8558 2400). Registrations may be transferred.
- Cancellations more than 90 days prior to the event attract a $75 processing fee per person.
- Cancellations between 10 and 90 days prior to the event attract a processing fee equivalent to 50% of the registration cost per person.
- Cancellations fewer than 10 days prior to the event will receive no refund.
Collection of your personal information
There are many aspects of the site that can be viewed without providing personal information, however access to HBE customer support may be require you to submit personally identifiable information. This may include, but is not limited to, a unique email or school registration account, or you may be required to provide sensitive information in the recovery of information regarding an order.
Use of your personal information
For each visitor to reach the site, we expressly collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to: browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the site, page access times and referring website address.
This collected information is used solely internally for the purpose of measuring visitor traffic and trends, and delivering personalised content to you while you are at this site.
From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will use for these new purposes only data collected from the time of the policy change forward and will adhere to our updated practices.
At time of order placement, the email address provided during the order process will be used to communicate any updates to your order, as well as informing you of relevant products and services offered by HBE.

HBE is committed to providing you with the best possible customer service experience. HBE is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.
Sharing of your personal information
We may occasionally hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to website services, processing transactions or customer freight shipping. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they require to deliver the service. HBE takes reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.
Changes to this privacy policy
HBE reserves the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time. If you have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the site.
Accessing your personal information
You have the right to access your personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. HBE reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for, and providing access to, your information on a per-request basis.
